It was a cold winter day in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, in a town called Crystal Lake. There were 12 of us being baptized that day. I remember as I was approaching the baptismal tank, that the presence of the Holy Spirit supernaturally surrounded me as I could feel currents of what seemed like electricity pulsating through my body and out through my hands with each step that I took to get closer to the tank. I was excited feeling God’s presence, as in my mind I was laying down my old life for Christ; that was on January 30, 1987. I was 21 years of age. I went into the tank, and when it was my turn, I could feel this presence in the water as I was dunked. I came up as a new person in Christ Jesus. This supernatural feeling lasted all day and all night as if I was being cleansed of my old self and into a life-long journey into this presence of the Holy Spirit that I was becoming familiar with in a new way. As I arose from the baptismal tank with the man who is performing the baptism, he began to prophesy over my life and what God has planned for my future. This man they called a Prophet began to tell me secrets about my life that only I would know, and then he began to prophesy what is going to happen to me in the future. Even years into the future, he saw ministry and gifts the Lord would place in my life and things that would come to pass in the Lord’s timing. This was the first time that I was introduced to the prophetic ministry and personal prophecy through a man that was called a Prophet, which I thought hadn’t been seen since the Old Testament days with names like Elijah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel; yet a Prophet stood there right in front of me. Little did I know that day would change the course of my life forever, and into a personal quest of soul searching into the deeper things of God, the Holy Spirit, and the Lord Jesus Himself. It is now 30 years later, and I am writing this beginner’s book about personal prophecy. It is my desire to teach others how to move in the gift of prophecy and give words to others for encouragement, uplifting, and direction as the Spirit of the Lord leads. I have two Ministry websites; they are www.personalprophecy4u.com and www.propheticinsights4u.com. I prophesy mostly online through these two ministry platforms as people make requests on the websites. I then send an email back to those request personal prophecy, and sometimes send an MP3 voice message if requested.

I would like to make this statement of the difference’s between the Gift of Prophecy (1 Corinthians 12:10) and the Office of a Prophet (Ephesians 4:11). The Office of a Prophet is a 5 fold ministry gift to the church (body of Christ) The Prophet is the watchman and guard at large for the direction of the church in Regions, Nations, and as well local churches and body of believers. He operates under a Prophetic Mantle and level of anointing that is much deeper and precise of the words of Prophecy that will flow through this individual for the edification of the entire church in general as well as personal prophecy as directed by the spirit of the Lord. The GIFT OF PROPHECY which is what this book is all about is one of the 9 Gifts of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12) and is available to ALL spirit filled christians. This book will give all that desire to flow in the Gift of Prophecy the basic guidelines and exercises that are available to every born again spirit filled disciple of Christ Jesus. This Gift operates through the Holy Spirit himself as he nudge’s and reveals in different ways the language of God, to operate and flow correctly with this particular Gift from him for the edification and encouragement for all believers to each other, as the Spirit will reveal. I will be expounding on how to operate in the Gift of Prophecy with chapter exercise’s to begin to awaken this Gifting in all that desire to go deeper and HEAR deeper for themselves and for others as Personal Prophecy is 100% biblical and much needed in these last days for each of us to bring HOPE into our daily lives as the Spirit is speaking to all.
